SENATOR BACKS FULL FUNDING FOR ARAL PROGRAM TO BRIDGE LEARNING GAPS

15 September 2025

SENATOR Sherwin Gatchalian has assured that the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning or ARAL Program will receive sufficient funding to ensure its successful implementation and help struggling students catch up in literacy and numeracy.

“The launch of the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning Program marks a key moment in our efforts to reverse the country’s education crisis,” Gatchalian said.

As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance and principal author of the ARAL Program Act, Gatchalian vowed to prioritize budget allocations for the program.

“Through the ARAL Program, tutors will be deployed to help our struggling learners achieve literacy and numeracy. I will work to guarantee that adequate resources are allocated to support the full success of the program,” he affirmed.

Gatchalian underscored the importance of proper implementation, emphasizing that no learner should be left behind.

“Mahalagang magtagumpay ang ARAL Program at maipatupad ito nang maayos upang wala nang mag-aaral ang mapag-iiwanan,” he added.

The ARAL Program aims to bridge learning losses caused by the pandemic and other disruptions, focusing on foundational skills to improve student outcomes nationwide.
