PINOY STUDENTS, TRAINEES WIN BIG AT WORLDSKILLS ASEAN MANILA 2025
FILIPINO students and trainees from TESDA-accredited institutions, colleges, and universities nationwide brought honor to the country after winning a remarkable haul of medals at the WorldSkills ASEAN 2025 competition held in Manila.
Team Philippines showcased world-class talent, clinching 10 gold, 7 silver, and 8 bronze medals, along with several Medallions for Excellence across a wide range of technical and vocational skill areas.
The gold medalists were: Hannah Krystelle Caintic (Graphic Design Technology), Hayden Christian Gravador & Gian Benedict Cariño (Internet-of-Things), John Patrick Torres & Steven Retirado (CNC Maintenance), James Bryan Estrada (Industrial Control), Agee Docayso (Cooking), Carlos Antonio Delos Reyes (Hotel Reception), Honorato Amad II (Carpentry), James Cavin Sayago (Electrical Installations), Alexis Joseph Anuta (Plumbing and Heating), and Denmark Dadia (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning).
Other competitors earned silver medals in fields such as information network cabling, bakery, hotel reception, carpentry, electrical installations, plumbing and heating, and refrigeration and air conditioning.
Filipino participants also bagged bronze medals in IT network systems administration, electronics, mechatronics, bakery, beauty therapy, mechanical engineering CAD, and wall and floor tiling.
Meanwhile, several competitors were awarded Medallions for Excellence, recognizing their outstanding performance and near-podium finishes.
TESDA officials lauded the competitors and their partner schools for raising the country’s profile in technical-vocational education and training (TVET). They emphasized that the achievement reflects not only individual skill but also the quality of training programs across the Philippines.
The victories reaffirm the global competitiveness of Filipino youth in technical fields and reinforce the country’s reputation as a hub of skilled talent in the ASEAN region.
