SENATOR LAUDS SIGNING OF NATIONAL EDUCATION SUPPORT PERSONNEL DAY ACT
SENATOR Sherwin Gatchalian expressed his gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for signing the National Education Support Personnel Day Act (Republic Act No. 12178) into law, a measure he personally sponsored.
Under the new law, May 16 of each year will be officially observed as National Education Support Personnel Day, to honor the country’s non-teaching and teaching-related staff.
“Our students’ and teachers’ success would not be complete without the tireless support of our non-teaching and teaching-related staff. They are the strong pillars of our education system,” Gatchalian said.
The law aims to recognize and celebrate the essential role of school support staff, such as administrative officers, librarians, guidance counselors, registrars, and other education-related personnel, who work behind the scenes to ensure quality education across the country.
Gatchalian has consistently advocated for strengthening the education sector, not just for students and teachers, but for all personnel in the academic community.
