EDUCATION Secretary Sonny Angara visited Balabag Elementary School in Aklan to observe the implementation of the Madrasah Education Program (MEP).

“The promise of the Madrasah Education Program is simple: wherever you are in the country, you should not feel distant from your culture and heritage. I’m glad to see this coming to life in Aklan,” Angara said.

Angara was warmly welcomed by Madrasah enrollees and observed their classes.

The MEP is a comprehensive initiative that integrates Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education into both public and private schools, promoting Muslim culture, traditions, and interests within the basic education curriculum.

This initiative aligns with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’ directive to strengthen the MEP.

The program was first established by former President Ferdinand E. Marcos.
