A RETIRED scientist from the University of the Philippines Visayas was recognized as the Most Outstanding Alumna in Research, Science, and Technology by West Visayas State University.

Dr. Erlinda Ganzon-Naret received the award during the 2025 Grand Jubilarian Alumni Homecoming at the Iloilo Convention Center last month.

Naret is a retired career scientist and university researcher from the UPV Institute of Aquaculture, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences.

She dedicated over 41 years of service to UPV before retiring on October 26, 2018.

Her contributions to science earned her the rank of Career Scientist I from the National Academy of Science and Technology-DOST, recognizing her research productivity and international presentations in aquaculture.

In 2024, the Iloilo City Government honored her as one of the Most Outstanding Ilonggos for her contributions to science and technology.

She also received the USA Outstanding Achievement Award in Science, Technology, and Environment on July 13, 2018.

Dr. Naret is an alumna of West Visayas State University, earning her Master in Agriculture in 1990 and PhD in Agriculture in 2013.
