ETEEAP ACT TO REACH MORE FILIPINOS SEEKING COLLEGE DEGREES
SENATOR Joel Villanueva aims to help more Filipinos obtain and finish college degrees through the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) Act.
As the lead conferee of the Senate panel, Villanueva submitted for Senate ratification the bicameral conference committee report on Senate Bill No. 2568 and House Bill No. 9015, also known as the ETEEAP Act.
“We still have much to do to ensure that our learners never stop schooling. But we will continue to create educational pathways and equivalencies for our people— this is one of those pathways,” Villanueva said.
“The ETEEAP Act, at its core, concretizes lifelong learning and recognition of prior learning, advocacies close to this representation’s heart,” he added.
Villanueva emphasized the importance of ETEEAP in recognizing learning from various sources, including the workplace and training centers.
“Through the ETEEAP, we acknowledge that learning never stops—whether in school, the workplace, at home, or in training centers. This program is particularly vital for those who, for various reasons, were unable to finish college but are now working professionals,” he explained.
Villanueva noted that around 3,000 graduates complete their tertiary education through ETEEAP annually.
