PBBM URGES PARENTS TO JOIN BAKUNA ESKWELA PROGRAM
PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has called on parents to participate in the Bakuna Eskwela program, recently launched by the Department of Education and the Department of Health.
The vaccination initiative, aimed at protecting children against measles, rubella, tetanus, diphtheria, and HPV, has been intensified.
“Ang mga bakuna ay ligtas, epektibo, at libre,” said DepEd.
In his message, the President emphasized the importance of providing health services, such as vaccination, to the youth.
According to DepEd, the immunization program will run from October to November 2024 in selected public schools across various provinces.
Bakuna Eskwela aims to immunize at least 3.8 million public school students enrolled in Grades 1 and 7.
The agencies also aim to vaccinate 973,930 female Grade 4 students with the HPV vaccine, which protects against cervical cancer.
