THE COMMISSION on Higher Education has granted Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas the prestigious Autonomous University Status.

“LPU-Batangas has once again earned the prestigious Autonomous University Status from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the highest distinction awarded to higher educational institutions in the Philippines,” LPU-Batangas said in a statement.

According to the university, it is among the 77 institutions in the country to receive this recognition.

“The Autonomous University Status reflects LPU-Batangas’ compliance with the highest academic standards, covering its performance from July 1, 2019, to September 15, 2023,” the university added.

Despite the unprecedented challenges posed by the pandemic, CHED acknowledged the constraints brought about by the crisis but emphasized the need for continued exemplary performance in the post-pandemic era to qualify for future renewals of this status.
