SENATOR: THE COUNTRY NEEDS THE ROTC NOW
SENATOR Robinhood Padilla expressed sadness that the Philippines is still debating on whether to revive the mandatory Reserve Officers Training Corps at the tertiary level.
Padilla made the statement during the graduation of 48 Senate employees from the Basic Citizen Military Course in Naval Station Jose Francisco, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
The senator stressed that the Philippines is still contemplating reviving mandatory ROTC while other countries in Southeast Asia are preparing for any eventuality.
The lawmaker reminded the public that it is high time to revive the mandatory course amid the tension in the West Philippine Sea.
Thus, Padilla stressed that encouraging youth to join ROTC is one of the missions he wants to give the new graduates of BCMC.
He encouraged the new reservists to advise the youth to conquer any fear and face any trials.
