STUDENTS from Batanes province have received cash assistance from the Commission on Higher Education Region 2, in a bid to help them finance their studies.

A total of 57 students from Batanes State College have received P25,000, under the Student Monetary Assistance for Recovery and Transition of CHED.

The checks were handed at the BSC Amphitheater in a ceremonial awarding last January 18, 2024.

The SMART grant is a one-time grant to qualified students who are enrolled in undergraduate programs for the Academic Year 2023-2024.

CHED said that the program was created to help assist students reeling through the after effects of the pandemic.

The program’s funding is sourced from the Higher Education Development Fund.
