SINABI ng Department of Education-National Capital Region na unti-unti silang lilipat mula printed modules patungong digital platform ngayong taon pampaaralan.

Ayon sa DepEd, hindi sustainable ang printed modules dahil bukod sa mahal ang pag-imprenta nito ay nagkakaroon pa ng pagkakaantala dahil libo- libong mga papel ang ginagamit dito.

“’Yung shifting gradual ito, pero ang shift natin will be towards the digital offline. Kapag sinabi po nating digital offline, gusto natin i-maximize ‘yung gamit ng smartphones pati telepono kahit ordinaryong telepono kasi based on our survey at kahit sa pag-iikot namin halos lahat naman ng households ay may telepono,” pahayag ni DepEd-NCR director Dr. Malcolm Garma sa isang virtual press conference.

“So what we would like to happen is to optimize the use of cellphones, but of course, part of the effort is to really highten the awareness na ang cellphone natin ay hindi lamang for communication, hindi lamang for entertainment but can be used for learning,” dagdag pa nito.

Sinabi rin ni Garma na tinitingnan at i-explore din nila ang mga software platform na maaari nilang i-adopt at ipasok sa cellphones.

“Kung walang tablet o laptop, we can maximize the cellphones. So, ito ‘yung mga USB On-The-Go, actually ‘yung On-The-Go is one of the platforms na identified, may mga partner na nakausap who can provide us with the platforms gamit lang ang telepono,” sabi ni Garma.

Ayon kay Garma, ang Makati City ay nag-shift na sa digital offline gamit ang USB.
