SUSPENSION OF CLASSES DURING TRANSPORT STRIKE DEPENDS ON LGUs — VP SARA
EDUCATION Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio said that the suspension of classes during the three-day transportation strike will depend on the discretion of local government units.
EDUCATION Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio said that the suspension of classes during the three-day transportation strike will depend on the discretion of local government units.
Duterte-Carpio said that the Department of Education would not suspend classes.
“The general rule is there will be no cancellation of classes during a transport strike,” she said.
“The only exception is if the local government unit will declare a cancellation of classes, but the [Metropolitan Manila Development Authority] does not recommend the cancellation of classes,” the Vice President added.
The transportation strike began on Monday and is scheduled to last until Wednesday.
Earlier, the DepEd issued an advisory that there will be no suspension of classes during this week’s transportation strike.
