AN alumna of the Silliman University was named Outstanding Professional of the Year in the field of Social Work by the Professional Regulation Commission.

Atty. Mary Fokno-Capuyan, who graduated in BS Social Work in 1976, was recognized for her exemplary contributions in the field of social work.

The award is the highest recognition that can be given by the PRC to professionals.
It recognizes those who demonstrated professional competence and integrity in exercising their profession.

It also recognizes a professional’s meaningful participation in activities through the PRC, significant contribution to advancing their profession, and effective demonstration of social responsibility through personal or professional engagement in social-related activities.

Fokno-Capuyan will receive the award on December 10, 2023.

Last September, Fokno-Capuyan also received the Outstanding Social Worker of the Philippines award from the Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc.
