THE De La Salle University Chorale bagged two awards in the Busan Choral Festival and Competition 2023.

The group clinched both Classical Mixed and Ethnic categories championships after besting 54 other teams from South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Sweden, and Philippines.

With the feat, the chorale also advanced to the Grand Prix over the weekend.

Organized by the Korea Choral Institute, BCFC has fostered cultural exchange and promoted high quality choral music since its first edition in November 2005.

Among the juries this year are prestigious musicians Anton Armstrong, Maria Emma Meligopoulou, Yu-Chung Johnny Ku, Yu-Chung Johnny Ku, and Dr. Shin-Hwa Park.

“The ‘Busan Choral Festival & Competition’ deepens people’s relationships around the world and will shine like a flash of light in the sky. Harmony will offer hope and courage to those who are sick and suffering from pain,” said BCFC president Chung-Suk Kim.
