SILLIMAN U STUDENTS CHAMPIONS IN REGIONAL PITCHING TILT
FOR their blood donation application, nursing students from the Silliman University were declared the champions in the Philippine Startup Challenge 8 Regional Pitching Competition held in Cebu City last week.
Audrey Kiara Delfin, Maika Matsumoto, Anthony Ozoa and Christian Ozoa bested 24 other teams and 21 other schools in Central Visayas in the live pitching of their startup proposal called “Blood Barkada.”
The team was chosen to compete from 247 student applications and 130 mentor registrations.
They also won the “Best Logo” award.
They will represent Region 7 in the PSC8 national pitching competition semifinals wherein all entries of regional champions will be reviewed remotely over a one-week period.
Only 10 teams will be selected to compete in the finals in December 2023 in Cebu.
The students were mentored by SU College of Business Administration dean Dr. Wilma M. Tejero-Libarios.
PSC is the Department of Information and Technology’s flagship annual startup pitching competition among Senior High School and college students.
It aims to encourage and support the Filipino youth in creating innovative and relevant ICT products and services that may potentially develop into viable business ventures and solve social problems.
