THE satellite offices of the Office of the Vice President will assist the Department of Education in the implementation of its Brigada Eskwela to help prepare schools for the opening of classes this month.
The OVP has satellite offices in Dagupan, Isabela, Region V, Cebu, Bacolod, Tacloban, Davao, Surigao, Zamboanga, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
On August 14, the OVP will participate in the Brigada Eskwela in East Central Integrated School in Dagupan, Cauayan South Central School in Isabela, Gogon Central Elementary School in Legazpi, Labagon Elementary School in Cebu, St. Francis Elementary School in Tacloban, Victoria Elementary School in Surigao, and Salum Elementary School in Zamboanga.
The Satellite Office in Davao will assist with preparations at the Governor Vicente Duterte National High School on August 15, while the OVP BARMM will extend help at the Barangay Pagalamatan Elementary School on August 17.
Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide school maintenance program that taps all education stakeholders to contribute their time, effort, and resources in ensuring that public schools are ready for class opening.
During the Brigada Eskwela Kick-off in Tarlac last August 7, Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte said the Brigada Eskwela can pave the way for a brighter and more resilient start for Filipino learners.
“Brigada Eskwela is an appeal to the Bayanihan spirit of every Filipino to help prepare our schools for the opening of classes,” Duterte said.
“It is (to) make our schools functional, clean, and orderly inside and outside the classrooms and within the school sides,” she added.
