TARLAC STATE U CHORALE WINS AWARDS IN TOKYO INT’L CHOIR TILT

THE TARLAC State University Chorale bagged several awards in the 5th Tokyo International Choir Competition in Tokyo, Japan.

The group won the gold prize and audience award in the folklore category of the competition.

They also secured the gold prize and third place in the youth category.

The awarding ceremony was attended by Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Agnes Macaraeg, Student Affairs director Prof. Gherold Benitez, TSU Musical Director Joshua Fontanilla and the TSU Chorale members.

The Tokyo International Choral Competition is a member of the World Choral Championship consisted of four international.

The WCC will be a grand-prix competition to decide the best among the winning choirs of each competition.

International choral competitions joining the WCC are International Krakow Choir Festival Cracovia Cantans, Tokyo International Choral Competition, Taipei International Choral Competition and Rimini International Choral Competition.
