THREE students from Bicol University secured the top three spots in the Bureau of Internal Revenue Philippines’ Brightest Buwis Masters.

Brix Renzo Rempillo, 2nd year BS in Accountancy student, was named champion in the Regional Tax Quiz category.

Rempillo will compete in the national level with 21 other regional winners.

Meanwhile, BS Accountancy students Joyce Kathleen Vargas and Joy Hazel Romero clinched the 1st and 2nd runner-up places, respectively.

Seven out of twelve finalists in the regional competition were from BU.

The nationwide search among college students aims to enhance the public’s knowledge of the country’s tax laws and regulations, particularly for the youth sector who are the future taxpayers.

The National Tax Quiz will be held on July 28, 2023.
