UP DILIMAN PARTNERS WITH CCSFP
THE Confucius Institute of the University of the Philippines-Diliman signed a partnership agreement with the City College of San Fernando Pampanga and city government of San Fernando.
UPD Chancellor Edgardo Carlo Vistan II said that the institute will have cultural and language exchange programs with the CCSFP.
On the other hand, CI Director Lourdes Nepomuceno said that CCSFP has been identified by the League of Cities of the Philippines as an institution capable of delivering the Chinese language and cultural programs of the CI.
The LCP is a non-profit and non-partisan organization of 145 city mayors in the Philippines. It recently signed an MOU with CI to create partnerships with LCP-member cities to teach the Chinese language and culture to schools in their localities.
The institute strives to offer anyone interested in learning the Chinese language and culture the opportunity to learn; to build teachers’ capacity through professional Chinese language training and promote social and economic research that encourages better understanding of modern China.
Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag of San Fernando City thanked the CI and other partners for helping improve the quality of education and learning of CCSFP students.
