MAAARING mag-avail ng sick leave na may bayad ang mga guro na may Covid19, sintomas at close contact exposure, ayon sa Department of Education.

Sinabi ni DepEd spokesperson Michael Poa na nakapaloob sa DepEd Order No. 39, Series of 2022 ang sick leave ng mga guro o tinatawag na excuse absence, at ang basehan nito ay ang Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular No. 2, Series of 2022.

“Ayon po doon sa ating DepEd Order No. 39 kapag ang teacher ay positive for Covid19, may sintomas, or close contact na kailangang mag-isolate sila po ay makakapag-avail ng excuse absence,” ani Poa.

“Ano po ibig sabihin ng excuse absence? Iyan po ay absence pero may bayad po sila, so they will be paid their salaries,” dagdag pa niya.

“Because our teachers are civil servants, they’re under the civil service, so as to there rules in terms of excuse absences and the like sumusunod po tayo sa CSC dahil sila ang may mandato ukol dyan,” sabi pa ni Poa.

“We will have to follow the DOH guidelines kasi kung mako-consider sila as close contact for one, and then second, ‘yun nga po susunod lang po tayo sa CSC memorandum circular. As to the limit, we will refer nalang po doon sa CSC memorandum circular.”
