PUBLIC URGED TO TAKE VIRTUAL COURSE ON COVID19 PREVENTION

/ 27 August 2022

THE TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority urged students, teachers and schools to avail of its free online course on Covid19 prevention as face-to-face classes resume after more than two years of distance learning.

TESDA Director General Danilo Cruz said educational institutions may take the online course designed to prevent the spread of Covid19 among students and teachers.

“This course is available at e-tesda.gov.ph and can be easily accessed by the public anytime and anywhere using their internet-capable smartphones, computers or laptops,” Cruz said in a statement.

At the onset of the pandemic, TESDA developed an online course “Practicing Covid19 Preventive Measures in the Workplace” which was integrated into its TESDA Online Program.

The course is one of the most popular programs in the TOP.

In 2020, more than 142,000 completed the course, while 383,826 others took it in 2021, the agency said.

Cruz said TESDA has linked free online courses about Covid19 management from other open sources, such as the “Contact Tracing Course” of the Johns Hopkins University, “COVID-19: How to put on and remove personal protective equipment (PPE)” and “Standard precautions: Hand hygiene” of the World Health Organization, among others.
