TESDA LAUNCHES AUTOMOTIVE TRAINING FACILITY
THE TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority and Petron Corporation inaugurated a modern automotive training facility at the agency’s Taguig complex.
TESDA Secretary General Isidro Lapeña and Petron Corporation General Manager Lubin Nepomuceno led the inauguration of the TESDA-Petron Car Care Center.
The training facility is the result of a Memorandum of Agreement signed between TESDA and Petron three months ago.
Under the agreement, TESDA and Petron shall strengthen training programs that will be offered to identified clients and to Petron’s auto-mechanic technicians.
The TPCCC will be utilized to offer higher-level Automotive Training and Servicing Program that will focus on Preventive Maintenance and later will include Automotive Servicing and allied diploma programs.
TESDA is also working with Petron to update the training regulations for Automotive Servicing. This will help ensure the delivery of demand-driven technical vocational education and training delivery and help create job security for the graduates through industry partners.
Lapeña thanked Petron for partnering with the agency in helping produce highly skilled workers in the automotive sector. He assured future graduates that they will be job-ready once they finish the training programs given by TESDA.
“This facility will be opened to the public for them to experience world-class training for higher-level qualifications for automotive servicing,” Lapeña said during the launching ceremony.
“This will also help increase the employability of technicians who will be trained using state-of-the-art tools and equipment of Petron Car Care Center inside the TESDA Complex,” he added.
Nepomuceno said that Petron “has always been earnest in fulfilling our role in nation-building.”
“We fuel countless journeys and power multiple industries, but we believe that true development starts with creating better opportunities for all,” he said.
