SENATOR Juan Edgardo ‘Sonny’ Angara urged the next administration to give priority to education in the budget allotment for the next six years.

Angara said that the education sector should be given importance.

“Ang pinakaimportante rito ay ang tamang prioritization o pagpili ng mga programa ng gobyerno. Ano ‘yung tamang gastos na pinakabubuti sa mamamayan na dapat hindi masakripisyo — edukasyon,” he said.

The senator also sought assistance for sectors hard hit by the Covid19 pandemic.

“The debt level should definitely be kept at manageable levels otherwise mag-spiral ‘yan pababa– lalaki ang utang, sasama ang credit rating, tataas ang binabayarang interest sa utang, etc. Galing na tayo dyan dati so dapat talaga iwasan,” he added.

“Pag-aralan din ang freeze hiring muna sa pamahalaan —  moratorium sa pag-hire ng panibagong mga empleyado sa pamahalaan,” Angara said.
