VSU COLLEGE OF EDUCATION DEPLOYS STUDENT-TEACHERS IN BAYBAY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
THE VISAYAS State University College of Education deployed 311 student-teachers to serve in public schools in Baybay City.
All of the deployed student-teachers this year will graduate with degrees in early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education, physical education, and culture and arts education.
The program is expected to run for more than a month and shall conclude by the third week of May.
Education students may participate in a teaching internship to learn about the art of teaching and how it is done and operationalized in the field, and in a way, improving the students’ capacity to integrate theory, making it an important part of their future preparation to become professional teachers.
CEd Dean Dr. Bayron S. Barredo also gave out a message on the importance of orienting student teachers before their field deployment.
“The orientation is very important to allow students to be aware of what they will be doing once deployed to their respective cooperating schools. As stipulated in the memorandum, Teacher Education Institutions should require their practice teaching students to undergo pre-orientation before deployment and secure a certificate of readiness for teaching internship,” Barredo said.
