PERPETUAL SURVIVES BIG SCARE AGAINST EAC
University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) survived a close game against Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), 63-60, of the NCAA Season 97 yesterday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Altas were able to get ahead of the Generals in the opening frame with an eight points lead as Mark Omega bolstered a career-high 13 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocks.
The second quarter was no different as the Altas was able to maintain the lead but the wind changed as EAC kept their presence under the nose of the Perps as Kriss Gurtiza poured a total of 18 points alone followed by Allen Liwag’s 12 points and six boards.
However, Kim Aurin pulled off a late-game performance and gave 10 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter to keep the advantage under their banner.
One minute left to end the game, and EAC had multiple opportunities to try for a tie but held on to the paint to end with only a three points gap, 63-60.
With the feat, the Altas booked a place in the play-in tournament while EAC finished its NCAA Season 97 journey with a 3-6 card.
