LACSON READY FOR ‘AIR WAR’
PARTIDO Reporma chairman and standard-bearer Panfilo Lacson is bracing for a “dog fight” in traditional and social media to win more votes in the May 9 elections.
PARTIDO Reporma chairman and standard-bearer Panfilo Lacson is bracing for a “dog fight” in traditional and social media to win more votes in the May 9 elections.
Lacson said the real battle to win the hearts of the voters will be through the airwaves and the internet since candidates cannot physically campaign because of the pandemic.
“‘Pag sinabing air fight, dog fight ay sa ere na muna maglabanan, pagalingan na lang. Tulad nung sa social media, ‘yung different platforms, ganoon ang galawan ngayon,” he said.
“Dahil parang virtually merong umiiral na self-imposed na unilateral cessation of activities, sabihin na natin, sa ground operation. So, wala na munang infantry large-scale operations; puro guerrilla na lang ngayon, ‘yung mga supporter namin sa ground,” he added.
The senator shared that he will rely on the power of volunteers like his friends and supporters “through thick and thin” to spread the word about his reform agenda.
“Kaya ang labanan talaga ngayon parang dog fight, parang labanan sa air assets—ibig sabihin, social media, mainstream media. Ito talaga ‘yung battle ngayon. So, walang choice kasi talagang walang malakihang galawan, assembly, gathering ng mga tao kasi canceled out ‘yan,” Lacson said.
