TESDA EXPANDS ONLINE PROGRAM
TO REACH out to as many Filipinos as possible, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority expanded its online training program to offer more courses on its web platform.
The TESDA Online Program provides free online courses for technical education and skills development.
Among its new courses are the International Labour Organization’s Job Readiness, English as a Medium of Instruction, Using Educational Technology in the English Language Classroom, and Microsoft’s Digital Literacy.
Since March 2020, more than 2 million Filipinos have signed up for the TOP, which was launched in May 2012.
In June 2020, Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña led the launch of the “TESDA Abot Lahat ang OFWs”program, which aims to upskill overseas Filipino workers who were affected by the pandemic.
As of October 2021, 114 courses are offered through the TESDA Online Program which has over 3 million registered users.
Everyone who completed a course obtained a certificate of completion. Those who would like to receive a National Certificate must go through a competency assessment in a TESDA-accredited assessment center.
TESDA was granted permission to conduct limited face-to-face training sessions and competency assessments in September 2021.
