REST IN POWER: ‘BLACK PANTHER’ STAR CHADWICK BOSEMAN DIES AT 43
Best known for his iconic portrayal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 'Black Panther', the actor died after a long battle with colon cancer.
Hollywood actor Chadwick Boseman was announced dead in his official social media accounts after his battle with colon cancer for four years.
In a tweet and IG statement shared today, Aug. 29, it detailed how Boseman was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 and has progressed to stage 4 eventually leading to his death.

An excerpt reads, “A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more—all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.”
Boseman’s most notable role in his acting career is as T’Challa in Black Panther. The film is lauded for its predominantly black cast and Boseman’s impeccable portrayal of Marvel’s Wakandan superhero. He’s also appeared in several movies such as Captain America:Civil War, Avengers:Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, expressed in a statement his grief at Boseman’s passing and commemorated his legacy by calling him “powerful and as strong as any person he portrayed”. Here’s his statement as posted by Aaron Couch, editor of The Hollywood Reporter:

Boseman died at his home in Los Angeles surrounded by his wife and family.
He joins the list of celebrities that we will miss this year including basketball superstar Kobe Bryant with his daughter Gianna, Glee star Naya Rivera, and Ru Paul Drag Race‘s ChiChi DeVayne, among others.
