DLSU RULES OUT TUITION INCREASE
TO HELP students continue their learning amid the pandemic, the De La Salle University on Friday said that it will not raise tuition in the coming school year.
University President Br. Raymundo Suplido gave the assurance following the appeal of student groups.
Students earlier opposed the planned 2.5 percent tuition increase, saying it will be an additional burden to them and their parents.
“Recognizing that the ongoing pandemic continues to cause financial difficulties to students and their families, De La Salle University will not implement a tuition increase that was earlier agreed upon by the Multi-Sectoral Consultative Committee on Tuition and Fees,” Suplido said.
“Thus, there will be no tuition fee increase in A.Y. 2021-2022 for all the graduate and undergraduate students,” he added.
Suplido said that the salary increase for faculty members and school staff will not be scrapped.
“More than ever, we need to gather as one Lasallian community to find concrete ways on how to alleviate the challenges faced by our fellow Filipinos,” he said.
