MANILA TO BUILD NEW SCHOOL BUILDING IN TONDO
THE CITY government of Manila on Monday held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a 10-story building for the Rosauro Almario Elementary School in Tondo.
Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso said the city allotted P1.9 billion for the project.
“We will empower the public education system by providing enough facility and good studying environment by putting all necessary recipes in public education,” Domagoso said.
“Today we will not only give ample space for our students in the future. We are not only doubling the capacity of a property being utilized for public education system. But today, we can honestly say that we will address population growth in the next 10 to 15 years of our lives. There is a space for your future children,” he added.
The new building will have 227 classrooms, 12 offices, a library on the second floor, an auditorium and a gymnasium on the 10th floor.
It will also have two outdoor basketball courts with a retractable goal that is convertible to a football field, two roof deck outdoor sport and exercise area, eight elevators, and seven stair nodes.
Domagoso also said that the President Dr. Alejandro Albert Elementary School in Sampaloc will be reconstructed for P2 billion, while the Manila Science High School on Taft Avenue has a budget of P1.3 billion.
