PASIG’S TOP 3 STUDENTS GIVEN AWARDS
THE PASIG City government awarded graduating students in public elementary and senior high school who garnered the highest grades.
Three students bagged the highest honors. In senior high school, it was a tie between two students from Nagpayong and Buting Senior High School, with both garnering an average of 97.875.
The top student in the elementary level came from Nagpayong Elementary School, with an average of 98.00.
Each student received P3,000 cash, food packs, medals, and a personal gift from Mayor Vico Sotto.
“The current administration puts premium in the education of Pasigueños — this is manifested through the volume of investments channeled to bringing the education system in Pasig City a notch higher through continuously enabling and inspiring teachers, students, and school administrators to always strive to do better,” Sotto said during the 448th cityhood anniversary on Friday.
Meanwhile, around 15 publishers showcased their children’s books for Kinder to Grade 3 in a Book Fair intended for public school teachers.
Teachers can choose up to 32 titles per grade level, for around 46,000 learners. The Schools Division Office will evaluate and assess all selected books and endorse them to the city government of Pasig for the procurement process.
The city government allocated P74 million for the procurement of books.
