PINAMAMADALI ni Senador Sonny Angara sa mga implementing agency ang paggamit sa natitira pang pondo sa ilalim ng Bayanihan 2 Law, kasama na ang P8.9 bilyon sa digital education, bago pa mapaso ang budget sa katapusan ng Hunyo.

“May ilang bilyon pa ang pondong hindi pa nagagamit sa Bayanihan 2. Ang extension ng Bayanihan 2 funds ay hanggang June 30 lang kaya dapat paspasan na nila ang pag-disburse mg mga pondo,” pahayag ni Angara.

Sinabi ng senador na batay sa datos ng Department of Budget and Management, hanggang noong Mayo 18, sa P165.5 bilyong pondo, P60.9 bilyon ang hindi pa nailalabas ng mga implementing agency.

Anim sa mga sinasabing implementing agencies ang nakapagtala ng below 50 percent obligation rate habang dalawa ang below 10 percent.

Kung hindi magagamit ang pondo hanggang Hunyo 30, ibabalik ito sa National Treasury.

“Congress acted with urgency in passing Bayanihan 2 in order to address the urgent needs of the different sectors affected by the Covid19 pandemic. We owe it to our kababayans who are in dire need of assistance to act just as swiftly especially now with just a few days left in the Bayanihan 2 extension law,” paliwanag ni Angara.

Sa edukasyon, P8.9 bilyon ang inilaan sa implementasyon ng digital education, development ng smart campuses ng state universities at colleges, at sa pagbibigay ng subsidiya at allowances sa mga deserving student.

Kasama rin sa programa sa Bayanihan 2 ang P40.5 bilyon sa health; P55 bilyon sa capital infusion; P9.5 bilyon cash subsidies at service contracting sa mga displaced driver; P10 bilyon sa cash-for-work, low-interest loans, at tourist guide training at subsidies;  at P24 bilyon sa stimulus package.

“We strongly urge the IAs to work faster in completing their respective processes so that the intended beneficiaries of the programs we identified under Bayanihan 2 will get the help that they badly need at this time,” diin ni Angara.
