THE NATIONAL Union of Students of the Philippines renewed its call on the government to vaccinate students against Covid19.

The group said that the inoculation of students and members of the education sector will pave the way for the resumption of face-to-face classes.

“Nararapat lamang na gawing prayoridad ng rehimeng Duterte sa ligtas at libreng bakuna ang mga estudyante, guro at kawani upang unti-unti nang makabalik nang ligtas ang mga estudyante sa paaralan,” NUSP said on Facebook.

It also called for a comprehensive information drive to quash vaccine hesitancy among Filipinos.

“Hinihimok din ng Unyon ang mga estudyante at ang lahat ng mamamayan na magparehistro sa mga lokal na LGU upang makakuha na rin ng bakuna. At upang magpalaganap ng impormasyon hinggil sa importansiya ng pagpapabakuna bilang panangga sa Covid19, kailangang maglunsad ang pamahalaan ng mga information drive upang maibsan ang pangamba ng mga mamamayan hinggil sa bakuna,” it added.

The Commission on Higher Education earlier urged the Department of Health to vaccinate students who will participate in limited face-to-face classes.
