THE SOUTHERN Luzon State University bagged the Best Volunteer Group in the CALABARZON region award given by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

The university said that it was recognized for its commitment to support poor communities.

“DSWD recognized SLSU for its sustained commitment and passion for community upliftment and for its support in the improvement of the well-being of the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program,” SLSU said on Facebook.

“Before a national campaign was launched by DSWD to partner with SUCs in 2015, SLSU has already partnered with DSWD in 2013, making it the first SUC to partner with the said department in the country,” it added.

The awarding ceremony, held at the SLSU’s Office of the President, was attended by representatives of the university and DSWD.
