JOSE RIZAL MEMORIAL STATE U INVESTIGATES STUDENTS BEHIND ‘BTS BIOT’ PIC
THE JOSE Rizal Memorial State University in Zamboanga del Norte said that it will investigate the ‘BTS Biot’ photoshoot conducted by two of its students that earned the ire of netizens.
The school said on Thursday that it did not issue any directive to facilitate fun shoots for its senior high school students.
This came after photos of two JRMSU students ‘insulting’ Korean boyband ‘BTS’ made rounds on social media.
The controversial images were part of the students’ graduation photos.
Netizens who saw the photos called out the school, saying it “promotes bullying.”
JRMSU asked netizens to wait for the result of its investigation.
“THE UNIVERSITY STRONGLY EMPHASIZES THAT THE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WERE NOT INSTRUCTED TO INCLUDE A FUN SHOOT IN THE SAID PICTORIAL, MUCH MORE MAKE DECLARATIONS OR STATEMENTS,” it said on Facebook.
“Lastly, the University is requesting all affected entities to refrain from making conclusions and generalizations and to calmly wait for the result of the investigation,” it added.
One of the students involved in the incident has apologized for his “insensitive and ignorant comments.”
