POSTPONEMENT OF TUP FACULTY EVALUATION SOUGHT

/ 21 May 2021

THE OFFICE of the Student Regent of the Technological University of the Philippines asked the school to call off the evaluation of faculty, saying issues surrounding the previous faculty evaluation remains unresolved.

The OSR revealed that in the first evaluation, faculty members automatically received “Outstanding” remarks in every category.

It called for a re-evaluation of the first semester “to regain the credibility of the evaluation.”

“The students believe that this faculty evaluation is an avenue for the management to investigate how the faculty performs realistically in the classrooms, especially now that the classes are online,” the OSR said on Facebook.

It said that any faculty evaluation for the second semester should be deferred “until such time that the ERS portal of TUP system-wide is working well.”

The evaluation for the second term is scheduled on May 21, 2021.
