CHMSC LAUNCHES GARBAGE SEGREGATION SYSTEM
THE CARLOS Hilado Memorial State College in Bacolod launched an Ecological Waste Management System to help take care of the environment.
CHMSC said on Monday that its Greening Task Force and Eco-Waste Management Team coordinated for the project, aimed to make its campuses zero-waste communities.
It said that the implementation of the initiative was initially set last year but was postponed because of the pandemic.
“One year ago, the GCTF held a series of workshops across all four campuses which resulted in the adoption of an Ecological Waste Management System, but due to the global pandemic, its implementation was postponed,” CHMSC said on Facebook.
“Today, with the full support and political will from the top management, the Ecological Waste Management System with the launching theme of “Basura ko, Salabton ko!” mandates a ‘no segregation, no collection’ of waste from offices, faculty rooms, and workstations among its many policy components,” it added.
The activity was attended by student representatives, three vice presidents and the president, to show CHMSC’s commitment to the project.
