SA GITNA ng pandemya ay ibinigay na ng Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute ang buong allowance ng kanilang mga di-gradwado at gradwadong iskolar para sa kasalukuyang akademikong taon.

“The stipends for current undergraduate and graduate scholars were already released in full in the latter half of this year,” pahayag ng DOST-SEI.

Ayon sa DOST-SEI, ang allowance ng mga bagong iskolar ay isinasaayos na rin at inaasahang ipalalabas sa lalong madaling panahon.

“Meanwhile, we are working for the prompt release of stipends for new scholars within the coming months,” ayon sa DOST-SEI.

Ipinamamalas ng DOST-SEI ang patuloy nitong pagsuporta sa mga siyentista ng bayan na patuloy na nagpapakita ng husay sa larang akademiko kahit na may pandemya at online o modular ang modalidad ng pag-aaral habang wala pang opisyal na bakuna laban sa Covid19.

Wala umanong pandemya o sakunang makahihinto sa tungkulin ng DOST na makaagapay ng mga Filipino sa larang ng edukasyon.

“We recently consulted with the various universities under the National Science Consortium  towards revisiting our existing policies and revising these where possible so as to help our scholars better cope with these trying times,” sabi ng ahensya.

“In particular, we are looking at ways to help our scholars receive funding in a [timelier] manner given the adjustments and concessions that universities have had to undertake in the wake of the pandemic.”
